Systems for web guiding and spreading across the entire textile processing spectrum

Guiding and spreading are the key tasks for positionally accurate and crease-free alignment of textile webs. These tasks are both performed by the ELSMART system at the same time. The web guiding rollers ensure optimum web guiding across the entire textile processing spectrum. 

Function

Guiding slats arranged around the circumference form the basis of the web guiding. In the basic version, the guiding slats are fixed to a guide plate so that they can be adjusted to the side via an actuating drive. In the case of segmented guiding slats, both guide plates are connected with a push rod and adjusted synchronously via an actuating drive. This means that, in addition to the web guiding function, the system also acts as a spreader on the textile web.  

Area of use

Due to the minimum degree of material stressing by the segmented roller guider, implementation in practically all textile production processes is possible using the ELSMART system for web guiding and spreading. The prerequisite here is that the textile web does not display surface stability.

Application

Web guiding rollers such as segmented roller guiders can be used freely in terms of position. Here, wrapping of 90° is a mandatory requirement. The infeed path should be at least one web width. By contrast, the outfeed should be kept as short as possible. Rolled-in edges can be rolled out in the infeed plane with the aid of an additional selvedge opening device.

Function

A roller arrangement comprising two or three web guiding rollers pivots around an imaginary pivoting point in the infeed plane immediately in front of the actuator. Immediate corrections are made via the lateral movement. The additional skewed positioning provides continuous correction of the running web. Here, there must be traction between the web and the roller.

Area of use

ELSWING steering roller systems are used predominantly in textile production systems for web guiding and spreading, where they are used for woven fabrics only.

Application

The length of the entry path depends on the web properties. In the case of very flexible webs, the entry path should be at least one web width. The greater the surface stability of the web and the greater the necessary corrections, the longer the infeed run needs to be. By contrast, the outfeed plane to the locking roller downstream must be kept short. A vertical web run from top to bottom is preferred.

Function

With the ELTWIN web guiding systems, the web edge is scanned either mechanically by a sensor lever or without contact using optoelectronics. The sensor signal controls a diaphragm cylinder or a lifting magnet that presses the control roller against the counterpressure roller. The web edge is controlled by roller offset and contact pressure of the web guiding rollers. The web guides have a compact design and are always used in pairs. An adjustment support is available in various versions for positioning of the web guide.

Area of use

ELTWIN web guides are used for web guiding in textile production plants for woven and knitted fabrics.

Application

A vertical web run is preferred for web guides. The infeed path should be at least one web width. By contrast, the outfeed path to the locking roller should be kept as short as possible.
