Color line sensors for precise determination of the web position

Color line sensors precisely determine the current position of the guiding criterion. Among other things, this is a basic condition for reliable web guiding. Usually, line chips are used for detection. With the FE 52, Erhardt+Leimer in 2014 became the first provider worldwide to introduce a sensor with a color matrix CMOS chip. By comparing the image with the taught-in guiding criterion the actual position of the guiding criterion is determined and output on the CAN bus as the sensor's actual value. Very fine structures from a line width of 0.2 mm can be acquired and scanned. The result is displayed as a real, two-dimensional live image of the web surface with all existing lines or color contrasts on the connected command station DO 4021.
