Control loop

Each control automation is based on a simple control loop. Even complicated tasks may be reduced to such a control loop.

Sensors

A sensor detects the actual position of a web without physical contact. Depending on the task and on the state of the material an infrared sensor, an ultrasonic sensor or a line sensor will be used.

Position controller

The controller compares the actual value of the web position with the target value and sends an appropriate correction signal to the actuator.

Actuators

The actuator corrects the web run. Depending on the material handled and on the application the actuator may be a pivoting frame, a steering roller system or a linear drive for a reel station.
